Why is Annetta its own town instead of part of Aledo or Fort Worth?
It incorporated August 11, 1979 specifically to avoid annexation. The original Annetta community split into three separate towns — Annetta, Annetta North, and Annetta South — all incorporated the same day in 1979, mainly to head off annexation by fast-growing Fort Worth and preserve large-lot country living. The name traces to the 1880s, when A.B. Fraser named the railroad station for his daughter Anneta. Confirm details with the Town of Annetta at annettatx.org.
