Aledo Bearcats repeat as UIL 5A Div. I state baseball champions — defeat Lake Creek 3–1

The Aledo Bearcats are back-to-back UIL Class 5A Division I state baseball champions after defeating Montgomery Lake Creek 3–1 at Dell Diamond in Round Rock early Saturday morning, June 6. The title game was delayed more than two hours by lightning before Aledo held on. Pitcher Lucas Nawrocki was named the game's Most Valuable Player after throwing 4.1 innings and allowing no hits. Gareth Love entered in the final inning and struck out the last batter to seal the win. Aledo scored twice in the second inning to take an early lead, added a run in the fourth, and withstood a Lake Creek threat in the sixth that closed the gap to 2–1 before Nawrocki drove home an insurance run.
