The City of Aledo issued a boil water notice July 8 after a major water main break caused a loss of water along Bailey Ranch Road near Champions Drive, with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality requiring the city’s public water system to direct residents in the mapped affected area to boil tap water for at least two minutes before drinking, cooking or brushing teeth — or use bottled water instead — until further notice, the city said. Aledo submitted water samples for testing July 9, with results expected within two business days, and said it will notify residents once the water is confirmed safe and the notice is rescinded. As of the city’s July 9 update, the affected area remained under the boil water notice.
